This release introduces the ability to add an ad hoc task to a form and enhancements for recording lost time and restricted work on reports.
New Version for the Mobile App
Mobile application users will be prompted to update the next time they open the app, as long as they are connected to the internet. Users must be on the latest version to continue using Sospes on their mobile devices.
- 2.8.76 (Current version as of Oct. 22, 2026 )
-
2.8.58 (Previous Version)
Ad Hoc Task List Widget on Forms
Sospes users with the Form Admin role can now include an ad hoc task list widget to individual forms. When you build a new form or edit an existing form, Form Admins will see a new option in the section type dropdown called Task List. If you add this new section, you can then customize the section’s name and description as usual.
When using the new ad hoc widget, employees can add one or more tasks in the task list box, just as they would for a form failure item. Created tasks will appear in the list and be sent to the assigned employees when the form is submitted. If no additional tasks are needed, leave the section blank and submit the form as usual.
Why it matters: For companies using a form to inspect a facility, asset, or any additional items that may need a follow-up task, this gives more flexibility to prompt immediate task creation outside of the direct questions or items in an inspection or checklist.
For example: If your facility inspection form lacks a section for walking and working surfaces, and upon inspection you find an issue in this area, use the task list widget to document hazards and create follow-up tasks without submitting a separate observation or form.
Restricted Work/Lost Time Section Overhaul
The Supervisor Portal’s restricted work/lost time section has been overhauled! Instead of typing days or hour counts into the old table, users with access to the supervisor portal can now record lost time and restricted work days in the new calendar by selecting:
- Start and end dates
- Lost time or restricted work/job transfer
- Employee shift length
Lost hours are automatically calculated as lost days × scheduled shift hours.
Why it matters: The new calendar offers a clearer and more accurate view because totals are calculated based on selected days and the length of shift. It also makes it easier to record, review, and distinguish between lost time and restricted work. Both can be selected and displayed directly on the calendar, giving users a more complete picture.
All historical lost time and restricted days recorded in the previous table will be converted using the following process:
- The calculation begins on the calendar day immediately after the incident date. Lost time days are applied first, followed by any restricted days.
- Only whole days are considered in the current lost time functionality. Hours are disregarded, including cases in which a record contains hours but shows zero days.
- The conversion is based on consecutive calendar days rather than working days. Therefore, weekends, holidays, and other non-business days are included in the calculation.
